The Effect of Motivation Levels of Teachers Working in Home Education on Student Success

Home education service; It is a form of education based on the principle of providing educational services at home to children of compulsory education age who cannot directly benefit from formal education institutions due to health problems. Within the scope of home education service; Problems experienced by the teachers providing education, the students benefiting from the education and their families in terms of psychological, educational, physical, social, official procedures, etc.; To obtain information about the primary expectations of families and students in line with the experiences of teachers during home education services and the feedback they received from families and students; It is aimed to offer solutions to the problems experienced by teachers providing home education services, families receiving the service, and students. In the study, interviews were held via Zoom with 16 teachers providing "Home Education Service" in Keçiören District of Ankara, using the survey technique. The answers given by the participants were recorded and evaluated in writing. Before conducting the survey, approvals from the relevant authority were obtained, the purpose of the study was explained to the teachers and the questions were sent in advance, participation in the survey was voluntary, and the interviews were conducted by the students under the supervision of the consultant teacher. After the answers given by 16 participants to the survey consisting of 10 questions were recorded in writing, each question and the options related to the question were evaluated one by one, and the percentage rates and numerical data were reported in the form of graphs. The problems experienced (in terms of teachers, students and families) were examined in line with the results obtained from the answers given by the teachers. Expectations are listed in order of priority. It has been observed that the 1st priority problem experienced by both teachers and families regarding home education services is stationery works such as requested paperwork, documents, reports and correspondence. In addition to the interviews, previous studies were examined by reviewing the literature. This study appears as a very small study group, considering that 10,552 students received home education across Turkey (October-November 2022 in the statements made by the Ministry of National Education).
